Last week, IPL’s Northland lab hosted six Year 13 students from Bream Bay College.

For most students, this was their first working lab visit. They were all very captivated by some of the equipment we have including the very impressive Fischer Crude Assay unit. It was good for them to be able to relate some of the learnings they have acquired as part of the Science curriculum and notice how they translate into a working environment. Being able to observe that IPL scientist have well documented procedures for the equipment and test methods performed in the lab was reassuring for them and made the whole scientist career less scary.

5 out of our 7 visitors are intending to pursue a University degree in Sciences and we would like to wish them all the best with their future learnings.
